What We Do

Interplan recently completed a new daycare, Arcos Iris Somos, in Rockville, MD, which serves as a Spanish immersion daycare for children 8 weeks old to 5 years of age. Upon entering the space, families are greeted at an open reception area full of books and other fun activities for children. Bright colors were used moderately throughout the space to create a fun and stimulating environment without being overbearing.

Each classroom is uniquely designed to cater to the developmental stages and requirements of each age group, ensuring that every child feels both comfortable and inspired. Children are invited to engage in hands-on activities, from language games to creative art projects. The furniture is intentionally arranged to foster collaboration and movement, allowing children to flow between different learning zones seamlessly.

Each classroom was designed to maximize student-teacher ratios and provide for all code-required classroom elements. This suite also features a staff breakroom, several restrooms for staff and students, along with laundry and storage. Custom lockers line the hallways, providing opportunities for the children to take responsibility for their belongings and learn organizational skills.

Throughout the daycare, the interior exudes a sense of warmth and vibrancy. The thoughtful design not only promotes language immersion but also creates a safe, inviting space where children can grow, explore, and forge lasting friendships.
