In 2015 Interplan made the (felt like it) drastic decision to move out of Washington, DC, and into Virginia. The timing felt right for many reasons. Interplan’s next generation of partners had been working hard to re-define Interplan, not only internally but also externally. Relocation of our offices also gave us the opportunity to launch a re-branding of Interplan’s image and marketing materials.
Interplan’s work style promotes a lot of interaction between staff. In order to give flexibility, and promote conversation, several types of meeting spaces were designed into the offices. From traditional meeting rooms, to a working library of finish materials, to meeting tables located within the open office, to a comfortable, laid-back lunchroom, there is a meeting space to meet everyone’s needs. Several client meetings are held via internet connection. Therefore audio visual screens and internet connectivity support almost all meeting locations.
The building’s exterior window lines were given over to the large studio and the lunchroom. The partners’ private offices are located at the back of the studio, facing the studio space through full-height, continuous glass walls.
