Macfadden was tasked with providing consolidated office space for USAID’s Office of Foreign Disaster Assistance. Moving from eight suites in three sites, OFDA needed an open collaborative environment with specialized functionality to support their humanitarian response missions. Of critical importance was the design of a conference facility capable of hosting events seating up to 700 people. This grand conference area can be sub-divided into 11 separate conference rooms. Additional amenities include a ‘check-in’ style registration desk, catering pantry with open hospitality/refreshment spaces, two independent video conference rooms, management offices and dedicated restrooms.
Interplan was the architect of record, providing full construction documents and assisting the design team efforts led by Strategic Initiatives, LLC. The 15,000 square foot conference facility resides on the concourse level of the building.
