Project Highlights
After decades in the same office environment, this structural design and restoration firm had grown into several disconnected and diverse office suites. The opportunity of a new lease and building location provided the catalyst to coalesce their organization into a long awaited and unified whole. The new second floor suite is arranged so that the central reception and conference room are directly in line with the elevator lobby and overlook the outdoor seating amenities of the building.
Generously proportioned studio space is split equally to both sides allowing day lit views for all staff. Large sliding walnut doors give privacy to the interior glass-fronted manager offices. The lunchroom is creatively outfitted with crisscrossing cable suspended lights, banquet seating and translucent orange acrylic chairs. The designer’s choice of a rich, earth-toned palette utilizes rustic finishes of sealed concrete, exposed ceilings and barn-wood planking played against polished stainless hardware, smooth glass panels, fine walnut woodwork and hi-tech light fixtures. The overall effect displays an understated elegance and grace.
