What We Do

Solomon Eye Physicians & Surgeons is a top-tier ophthalmology and optometry practice directed by Dr. Jonathan Solomon with locations in Bowie and Greenbelt, Maryland. Interplan was engaged to complete the design of their approximately 8,500 RSF facility in Bowie, Maryland. The space includes 10 exam lanes and several consultation offices, with a full diagnostics center serving the optometry portion of the suite. The main surgical procedure room is located in the center of the suite and hosts equipment for laser eye and cataract procedures. The procedure room has enhanced mechanical systems, rolled vinyl flooring, with cleanroom ceiling grid and tiles. Notably, the room’s doors are designed with vision panels, providing a transparent view for visitors and patients.

The interior design blends modern and natural materials, creating an overall cool blue ambiance complemented by vibrant orange and yellow accents. The waiting area welcomes patients with a partially exposed ceiling and suspended circular 'ring' fixtures to create a captivating centerpiece. Prioritizing functionality and seamless circulation, the suite incorporates a well-designed circulation corridor loop that connects key areas. This pathway is accentuated by a recessed linear fixture in a continuous bulkhead within the exposed corridor ceilings. Staff offices, an open administrative suite, and a small break area are strategically positioned along the window line, offering a pleasant work environment away from the primary circulation corridor.
